Artist's Comments
I started this illustration because I wanted to paint a bunch of humming birds for no particular reason. I've done initial sketches a while ago and even started painting but had to scrap it as it wasn't going well at all. During that time the idea became more rounded and gained a personal meaning for me. Sometimes I fall into a state when I have too many little thoughts buzzing in my head. There's always a worrying undercurrent because I can't put my finger on the thought that bothers me. I have to separate the thoughts, get rid of the noise, find the worry and deal with it - then this whole buzz disappears and it's like a load falling of my shoulders.
I wanted to keep the illustration light and cartoony-like and I'm quite happy with how it turned out, I especially like the colours. Hope you like it too  Acrylics on watercolour paper |
